and is exploring the intersection of food and design in Italian culture, learning about food issues Italians face, and searching for solutions that can be applied back to her community in Chicago.  Amanda is doing most of this through WWOOFing (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) where small families practicing a sustainable way of life provide meals and  a bed in exchange for a short day’s work from an enthusiastic WWOOFer.  Additionally she is connecting with Italian folks met during the Venice Biennale workshop who are integrating urban food production and culture into their cities much like the MFC is working to do in Chicago.  Amanda is also blogging at so feel free to check out more about her experiences there.  Ciao!
